Position: Technical Sales Engineer - Custom Automation Solutions

Location: Chicago, IL

About Us: Designhawk Innovations is a custom automation systems integrator. We work with manufacturers in and around Chicago to automate processes at their factories through the use of robotics and fixed automation solutions. We pride ourselves in building reliable machines and have an excellent track record with many repeat customers.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage potential clients, understanding their automation needs and challenges.

  • Collaborate with our engineering team to determine the viability of the customer application.

  • Present compelling product demonstrations and technical presentations to clients.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their trusted consultant throughout the sales process.

  • Assist with detailed proposals, quotes, and contracts, clearly articulating the value and benefits of our solutions.

  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements to effectively communicate our competitive advantages.

  • Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to expand your professional network and represent Designhawk Innovations.

  • Most importantly, sell automation to small to medium size businesses who are looking to stay current in this competitive market.

 

What we are hoping for:

  • Bachelor's degree in any technical field - Engineering, Computer Science, technical degree, or any related technical field experience.

  • Proven experience in technical sales, preferably in the automation, robotics, or engineering sectors.

  • Strong technical acumen to comprehend and communicate complex concepts effectively.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to understand client needs and translate them into effective solutions.

  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.

  • Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

  • Proficiency in CRM software.

The most important part is that you have ambition and interest in this industry. We will not stand over your shoulder and tell you what to do. Instead we would rather give you the tools you need to succeed and be impressed with the results. We will have a planning meeting once or twice a week and you will be free to handle the job as you please.
